1. Who we are

DSA Books is the official online bookstore of Dr. Stephen Akintayo, operated in connection with Stephen Akintayo Foundation. We sell ebooks and physical books to customers in Nigeria and worldwide.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: name, email address, and password (hashed by our auth provider) when you register or sign in with Google.
• Order data: items purchased, delivery address for physical books, order totals, currency, and payment references.
• Library & downloads: which ebooks you own and download timestamps for fulfilment and anti-piracy watermarking.
• Newsletter: email address if you opt in on checkout or via our newsletter form.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited when you use our site (see Cookies & analytics below).

3. How we use your information

We use your data to:

• Process and fulfil orders (digital library access and physical shipping).
• Send order receipts, shipping updates, and account-related messages.
• Prevent fraud and unauthorised sharing of ebooks (watermarking).
• Improve our store and measure site usage (with your consent where required).
• Comply with legal and tax obligations.

4. Payment processing

We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Payments are processed by:

• Paystack — for Nigerian Naira (NGN) transactions. Paystack's privacy policy applies to payment data they collect.
• Stripe — for US Dollar (USD) and international card payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data they collect.

We receive payment status, transaction references, and amounts to match your order — not your full card details.

5. Ebook watermarking

Downloaded PDF ebooks may be watermarked with your account email and order reference. This helps protect author copyright and trace unauthorised distribution. By purchasing an ebook you consent to this technical measure.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your cart. With your consent, we may also use:

• PostHog and/or Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the store (page views, add-to-cart, purchases).

You can accept or decline non-essential analytics cookies via the banner on your first visit. You may also block cookies in your browser settings; some features (e.g. staying signed in) may not work without essential cookies.

7. Data sharing

We share data only with:

• Payment processors (Paystack, Stripe) to complete transactions.
• Email delivery (Resend) to send receipts and shipping notifications.
• Hosting and database providers (Supabase, Vercel) to run the store.
• Couriers and logistics partners when fulfilling physical orders (name, phone, address).
• Authorities when required by law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

8. Data retention

We keep order and account records for as long as needed to fulfil purchases, handle refunds, meet tax requirements, and resolve disputes — typically at least seven (7) years for transaction records. You may request deletion of your account; some order data may be retained where legally required.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@stephenakintayofoundation.org. If you are in the EU/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, row-level database security, and access controls for admin operations. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Our store is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
